Contact Lenses

Everyone’s eyes are different, which is why we get to know you and your eyes before recommending the right contact lenses for you. We do everything we can to make sure your contact lenses are comfortable, providing you with clear vision.

  • Contact lenses offer unparalleled freedom and flexibility, allowing you to enjoy a wider field of unobstructed vision, greater comfort during physical activities, and the freedom to accessorize without the constraints of eyeglasses. Whether you're into sports, lead an active lifestyle, or simply crave the convenience and aesthetic that contacts provide, they could be the perfect solution.

  • Soft Contact Lenses: These are made of soft, flexible plastics that allow oxygen to pass through to the cornea. They're comfortable and easy to adjust to. Ideal for everyday wear and for sports.

Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Lenses: These lenses are more durable and resistant to deposit buildup, and they offer clearer, crisper vision. They're often prescribed for patients with astigmatism or keratoconus.

Extended Wear Contact Lenses: Designed for overnight wear, these lenses can be worn continuously for a week or up to 30 days. They require less daily maintenance but a higher standard of care to prevent infections.

Disposable Contact Lenses: These lenses are worn for a short time and then discarded, ranging from daily to monthly disposables. They're convenient and require minimal cleaning.

Toric Contact Lenses: Specifically designed for people with astigmatism, these lenses have different powers in different parts of the lens to correct the irregular shape of the cornea.

Multifocal Contact Lenses: Suitable for those with presbyopia, these lenses have multiple zones for different viewing distances - near, intermediate, and far.

Colored Contact Lenses: These can enhance or change your eye color and are available both with and without lens power for vision correction.

Each type has its own benefits and uses, and the best choice depends on your personal needs, lifestyle, and the health of your eyes.

  • Contact lenses have a fascinating history and some surprising facts that many people are unaware of. Here are a few intriguing tidbits:

Origin of Contact Lenses: The idea of contact lenses was first sketched by Leonardo da Vinci in the early 1500s, but it wasn't until 1887 that the first contact lenses were actually produced, made from glass and covering the entire eye.

Types and Materials: Originally made from glass, modern contact lenses are typically made from advanced silicone hydrogel materials, allowing more oxygen to reach the cornea, thereby increasing comfort and wear time.

Widespread Use: It's estimated that over 150 million people worldwide use contact lenses, including both corrective and cosmetic lenses.

Contact Lens Case

Keeping your contact lens case clean is crucial for eye health. After each use, empty the case and rinse it with fresh contact lens solution; never use water as it can harbor microorganisms harmful to your eyes. Gently rub and rinse the case with your fingers, then leave it open to air-dry upside down on a clean tissue.

Replace your contact lens case at least every three months to prevent bacterial growth. Remember, a clean case is as important as clean lenses for maintaining healthy eyes and clear vision.

How to insert them?

Inserting contact lenses is straightforward with practice. First, wash and dry your hands. Using a mirror in a well-lit area, gently place the lens (which should look like a cup, not a rimmed bowl) on your index finger.

Hold your upper eyelid open, look up or forward, and place the lens on your eye. Release the eyelid, close your eye briefly to let the lens settle, and blink a few times. If it feels uncomfortable, ensure the lens is clean and properly oriented before trying again. With time, this process becomes a quick, routine part of your day.

Contact Lens Solution

Contact lens solutions, crucial for lens cleanliness and safety, are designed to clean, disinfect, and store your lenses, thus reducing the risk of eye infections. Choose from multi-purpose solutions for everyday cleaning and rinsing, or hydrogen peroxide-based solutions for deeper cleansing.

Always use the solution recommended by your eye care professional, never substitute with water or other liquids, and follow the recommended soaking time, replacing your solution daily to maintain eye health.
